Scratch Final Project finally finished

I just finished my scratch final draft! For my final draft I decided to find a funny face that was on the internet and use it as a sprite that I cropped out. I then had it so the face would pop up on the screen for a split second and then go away. I enjoyed making this because it sparked some creativity in me and I made a fun game. I really enjoyed scratch and I might even use this another time

Final Project Idea

For our final project in Computer Applications, we have to design our own project where we have to base it off of the Fish Chomp activity. I plan on just using a funny face of someone or something and have them be eaten by an even bigger thing.

Try It #5

For this assignment, we had to make it so that whenever the sprites collided, then they would have to say "excuse me!". To do so, I simply had one sprite move toward the other and then used "If touching sprite one, sat 'excuse me!'".

Try It #9

For this project, we had to make it so that the sprite would follow the mouse, but not too far behind and so that it wouldn't touch it. I had decided to make it so that there was a "when flag clicked", then forever go to mouse, move -20 steps. I also went into the set costume and then moved the axis to the right of the mouse so it wouldn't touch the mouse when you put it on the screen.

Debug It 2.5

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/23547342/
I added "when flag clicked" followed by hide, switch backdrop to desert, wait, and "show" after "when backdrop switches to auditorium". These changes seemed to do the trick for me.

Debug It 2.4

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/23546933/
To debug this, I made it so the Sprite 1 broadcasted "Jump!" after it finished saying "Jump!".
Then I had Gobo glide up a little then back down and repeat it 10 times.

Debug It 2.3

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/23546735/
To debug this you have to add "wait" and "broadcast" before each resebling sprite talking.

Debug It 2.2

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/23546229/ All that you have to do is write the number you want to count to in the box on the screen and on the repeat box.

Debug it 2.1

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/23545893/
I defined "meow" for both the Sprite 1 and Gobo. Then, I had Gobo say meow after he says sure, so that now he can say meow and play the sound because it was defined under his script.

Scratch Scenes

While making the scratch scenes assignment, you have to add different backgrounds and also have it so that when the background changes, then the sprites say different things. I enjoyed this assignment by I got caught up on one part.

Penguin Jokes

The penguin Jokes remix that I did for scratch, I made it so the Penguins don't wait for each other to finish, they wait for each other to get the broadcast that is sent out. They respond when the broadcast is received then send another broadcast in response. I enjoyed messing around with this however the penguin thing kind of got old for me.

"Make a Block" Reflection

The Make a Block challenge that I made had the design of a man was hiking in the woods and to his astonishment, he came across a wild squirrel. He then declared,"hey, a squirrel" and walked towards it but it climbed up into a tree. I enjoyed making this because it was a quick and easy project for me to do and I think I did well on it.

Debug-It Reflection

The debugging activity was very fun for me and I enjoyed being challenged to fix the problem that each question had. If you don't already have a Scratch account, I highly recommend making one because you're missing out. I liked how in this activity, you could collaborate with your partner to fix the problem If you couldn't get it on your own. I recommend giving this project a try.

Debug-It 1.5 Remix

I put the "say meow, meow, meow" code in the repeat 3 times box just before the "play sound meow" code. This made the Scratch work the correct way and the meow sound and word was aligned correctly.http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/22978174/

DeBug-It 1.4 Remix

I added the "set rotation style Left-right" code after the "if on edge, bounce" block so that the sprite will turn around once it hits the edge of the screen.http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/22977748/

De-Bug it 1.3 Remix

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/22925203/
You have to add "wait"'s between each "turn 90 degrees". This allows each time it turns 90 degrees, for it to wait a little and allow you to see it turning.

De-Bug It 1.2 Remix

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/22924863/To fix this problem, you have to add "go to x=-120 y=0" code to just above "say I like the left side. for 2 secs."

De-Bug it 1.1 Remix

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/22924274/
In my de-bug it 1.1 remix, I simply just added the "when flag clicked" code to the top of Gobo's coding so that when it was clicked, both he and the Scratch Cat would dance.

10 Block Challenge

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/22868186/This is the link to my 10 Block Challenge. I enjoyed this challenge because it was entertaining and it was a good way for you to learn about Scratch. For my challenge, I have a football player at the train tracks with no one to play with, he then flies away.

Scratch Tutorial

After our first day using scratch, I was surprised at how simple it seemed to be. Also it felt familiar to when we did the hour of code activity. It felt fine to be led through the steps of the tutorial however it seemed boring after a while. As a learner, I like having more structure when I am doing something that I am not familiar with. I like having freedom when I am comfortable with whatever I am doing. I feel most creative when doing something on my own.

Reading Track

The Massachusetts town of Reading is an athletic renown town and one of its greatest sports is track.
Reading track has won too many outdoor track middlesex league championships over the past years, so many that I think everyone has lost track at about 40.

The Runners

One of the most enjoyable parts of reading track is the runners and being able to excersise with your friends and teammates. Some of the best runners in the town are Chris Higgins, Jacky Boy C, and Justin Tu. This is at the junior varstiy level of course but they will soon be running the varsity races.

Jumping Events

This year, being my first year running track, I decided to try something new. I tried doing pole vault which I enjoyed. My max height was at around 9 feet and I plan on doing it next year also.

Races

The races that I ran in meets were the 100 meter and the 200 meter. While there were many other races like the 400,800,1 mile and 2 mile. There are also hurdle events, the 110 meter hurdles and the 400 meter hurdles.

HTML Assignment 5

Computer Applications

Computer Applications

This is a class where you learn different ways to use computers in and out of school for edducational use.

Some of the things that we've learned in this class are, google search skills, excell basic training, and also to use virtual graphs when we made pictures of patterns by typing in graph coordinates.

Computer Buying Project

For this project we were assigned to research a mac computer vs. a regular computer to see which you would choose and why.

Why I chose a Mac:

  • Easy to use
  • Fast
  • Works with other apple devices well

Things I like about Computer Apps:
  1. Helpful in other classes where we use computers
  2. I enjoy learning this A block rather than a harder class
  3. I am good at the class

Things to know about the class:
Rules-
Stay on task and no phones for social purposes
Assignments-
Everything is a lot easier when it's done in advance
Have fun
This class is only a semester long so enjoy it while it lasts.

HTML Assignment 3

Reading Track

RMHS is known for their athletics and in specific, their track team. We have won 29 middlesex league champiopnchips. We are a very fast team and can compete well even at the state level.
The previous coach, Hal Croft is retiring this year after coaching for quite a while.
Spring track is a very fun way for people to excersize and meet new people.

X ray goggles

I really had fun doing the X-Ray goggles in this activity. In the pictures that I had remixed, you can see the changes that I subtlety or more obviously had made to the words in it.
